Description: The legend of Pirate Ben Margoza, who once reportedly made Gulf City his pirate fortress. No physical traces of the pirate city have been found, but the legend persists, and treasure hunters still search the island for remnants. The same story can be found in the Tampa Tribune in an article written by Tampa historian,, Rodney Kite-Powell.
