Description: Earliest known photo of the Ruskin Vegetable Coopertive built in what was then known as North Ruskin. (Now Apollo Beach). This cooperative was headed by Paul Dickman and 13 (approximately) other farmers who banded together to market their vegetable products. The cooperative was very successful in creating the Ruskin Brand of vegetables.

Dredged Land on Ruskin Inlet

Description: Photo, likely taken in early 1960s according to border note, shows early land deposits on the Ruskin Inlet created by dredged land. As this dredged material hardened it would eventually be built up to create usable land. This process was common in Florida Communities from at least the years just preceding 1920.
