Description: Ruskin created its own local stock company to bring telephone service to the community in 1912 Long distance service began the week of April 20, 1912 and the first long distance call was made to Bradenton. Local phones were being installed as quickly as possible. This company was publicly traded LOCALLY and this stock certificate is how those transactions were recorded.
