Description
A massive, 28,000 gallon spill of phosphoric acid from Cargill's Gardinier Plant, caused siginificant pollution and fish kills in the Alafia River. The Citizens for Alafia River Preservation (CARP) were active in insisting on environmental protections. This document is from a CARP meeting shortly after the spill and contains details of the accident and community reaction.
Description
Due to pollution concerns which greatly affected the Alafia River, phosphate mine activities were carefully examined by CARP. These maps illustrate the impact of an extension of the Kingsford Mine in Eastern Hillsborough County.
