This is a survey of 5 communities founded on the principals of John Ruskin in the United States. Communities in Tennessee, Georgia, Missouri and Illinois were precursors to the establishment of the Ruskinite community in Florida, beginning in 1906. Each of these 5 communities, including the Florida community, are discussed in this paper.

After Francis Corr's initial subdivision offerings in 1958/59, he suffered ill health and sold his interests in Apollo Beach to a Miami developer. That developer, involved in several questionable land schemes, did not ever tender any payment for the sale and after a long and complex series of court proceedings, including the firms bankruptcy, the Corr interests regained the land. The land was now in the hands of Thomas Corr, son of Francis and Dora Corr. This 1974/5 subdivision plan, title Unit 4, offers lands west of the original plat, bounded on the south by Miller Mac Road. These plans can be found at the Hillsborough County Clerk's Office in Subdivision Plat Book # 46, Page 81.
Description
Initial Subdivision Plans for first three sections of Apollo Beach from developer Francis Corr. Filed in 1958 and 1959. These sections of are bound by the Flamingo Canal on the north, and Miller Mac Road on the south with the land coming to a point at US 41. This is generally known as the "F Streets" plan, as most of the street names begin with the letter F.
